Shimla, the erstwhile summer capital of British India, sits at a dizzying 2,200 metres in the Shivalik hills — a ridge-top town of Victorian architecture, dense cedar forests, and breathtaking Himalayan panoramas. The famous Mall Road, the colonial Christ Church, the Viceregal Lodge, Jakhu Temple and its resident monkeys, and the UNESCO-listed Kalka–Shimla toy train all make Shimla one of India's most beloved hill destinations. The Noida to Shimla cab journey covers approximately 380 km and takes around 8 hours via NH44 through Panipat, Ambala, and Chandigarh, then climbing the spectacular NH5 mountain highway from Kalka through Solan into Shimla. Hire Himachal Cab's Noida to Shimla taxi service is available 24/7 — call +91-6230261947 for the best rates on sedan, SUV, Innova Crysta, or Tempo Traveller.
Noida's proximity to NH44 gives Noida travellers a slight time advantage over central Delhi, with less city congestion to navigate in the early morning. Our drivers pick up from any sector in Noida — Sector 18, Sector 62, Greater Noida, or anywhere else — and head straight up the expressway for the smoothest possible run to Shimla.
Shimla is Himachal Pradesh's capital and our drivers know it intimately — from the narrow lanes of Lower Bazaar to the best parking spot near Scandal Point and the fastest approach to hotels on Cart Road versus the Ridge. We offer transparent pricing with no last-minute surprises, 24/7 phone and WhatsApp support, and verified, experienced hill-route drivers.
Mall Road is Shimla's pedestrian promenade — a car-free stretch of colonial-era shops, cafes, and gorgeous views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. The Ridge, an open plateau at the top of Mall Road, is where Shimlaites gather at sunset and where the iconic Christ Church (1857) and the town library stand as reminders of the British Raj. A leisurely evening walk from Scandal Point along Mall Road to the Ridge and back is an essential Shimla ritual for every visitor.
Jakhu Hill rises 2,455 metres above sea level — 300 metres above Mall Road — and is crowned by an ancient Hanuman temple and a towering 33-metre orange Hanuman statue visible from across the valley. The 2 km uphill walk through dense rhododendron and deodar forest is part pilgrimage, part wildlife encounter (the resident macaque monkeys are plentiful and bold). A ropeway also connects Mall Road to Jakhu, making it accessible even for those who'd rather not walk. Our drivers can drop you at the ropeway base or the trailhead.
Kufri is just 16 km from Shimla and is famous for winter skiing, horse riding, and the Himalayan Nature Park — home to snow leopards, Himalayan black bears, and over 180 bird species. Chail, 45 km from Shimla, is a quiet former Maharaja's retreat with the world's highest cricket ground (2,444 m), a palace hotel, and dense forest walks. Both make excellent day trips, and our Mandi-based drivers know the mountain roads well for a comfortable ride on the narrow switchback sections.
Call +91-6230261947 or WhatsApp with your Noida pickup address (sector, landmark), travel date and time, number of passengers, vehicle preference, and exact destination in Shimla (hotel name or area). We can also plan extended Himachal circuits — Shimla → Kufri → Chail → Manali → Dharamshala — at the most competitive rates since we operate the entire Himachal route network.
Make the most of your trip to the Queen of Hills with these practical travel tips
Starting at 5 AM from Noida means you clear NH44 before morning traffic builds around Panipat. Stop for breakfast at Ambala (excellent parathas and chai) or Chandigarh and reach Shimla comfortably by 1 PM — with a full afternoon to explore Mall Road and the Ridge in daylight.
Shimla typically sees its first snowfall in December–January, transforming Mall Road and the Ridge into a magical white landscape. Book cabs and hotels well in advance for Christmas and New Year as the town completely fills. Winter driving on NH5 (Kalka–Shimla) is generally fine but check road conditions before departure.
Hotels on Mall Road look great on paper but cars can't reach them — your luggage gets carried by porters (extra cost). Hotels on Cart Road (below Mall Road) are cab-accessible and often better value, with a short uphill walk to Mall Road. Ask us and we'll drop you at the right entry gate for your hotel.
The UNESCO World Heritage Kalka–Shimla narrow-gauge railway is one of India's great train journeys — 96 km, 102 tunnels, 800+ bridges, and 5 hours of spectacular mountain scenery. Consider having our cab drop you at Kalka and taking the morning train to Shimla as a unique one-way experience.
Narkanda, 65 km beyond Shimla on NH5, sits at 2,700 m and is the heart of Himachal's famous apple belt. September–October brings the apple harvest — roadside stalls overflow with Himachali apples of every variety at impossibly low prices. Add a Narkanda detour to your Shimla trip for one of the most colourful autumn scenes in the hills.
Scandal Point is the main junction of Mall Road — named for a legendary British-era scandal — and is the best spot to watch the sunset light bathe the surrounding Himalayan peaks in gold. Spend your first evening here with a hot coffee from one of the nearby cafes, watching the mountains turn pink and orange as the sun sets.
