Day 2 — Shimla to Narkanda to Nako (260 km | ~9 hrs)
Travel along the Sutlej River with a dramatic scenery through Rampur, Jeori and Wangtu. Nako village is located at 3,662 m and a frozen lake. See the old Nako Monastery. Overnight in Nako.
Day 3 — Nako to Tabo to Kaza (130 km | ~5 hrs)
See Tabo Monastery, which was established in 996 AD and one of the oldest still active Buddhist monasteries in the world. Go on to Kaza — the head office of Spiti Valley at 3,800 m. Begin acclimatisation.
Day 4 — Kaza Acclimatisation and Local Sightseeing
Rest day to acclimatise. Excursion to Kaza Monastery and Saga Gonpa and the local market. Looking about the town. Interact with locals and have hot thukpa and butter tea.
Day 5 — Key Monastery, Kibber Village and Chicham Bridge
Drive to Key Monastery (4,166 m), the biggest monastery in Spiti, which is situated in a dramatic position on a hilltop. Explore one of the highest motorable villages accessible in winter, visit Kibber (4,270 m). Pull up in Chicham — the highest hanging bridge in Asia.
Day 6 — Pin Valley Snow Leopard Trail
