About the Tour

Haridwar & Rishikesh – Gateway to the Gods

Haridwar (meaning "Gateway of God") is one of the seven holiest cities in Hinduism. Situated where the holy Ganga emerges from the Himalayas onto the plains, it has been a centre of pilgrimage, yoga and spiritual learning for millennia. The famous Har Ki Pauri ghat is believed to be the exact spot where Lord Vishnu left his footprint.

Just 24 km upstream, Rishikesh — the Yoga Capital of the World — sits at the foothills of the Himalayas. The Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula suspension bridges, the Beatles Ashram, and the evening aarti at Triveni Ghat draw spiritual seekers from across the globe.

Our Haridwar–Rishikesh Ganga Darshan tour covers both towns with a comfortable AC vehicle, experienced driver, and ghat assistance — ensuring you experience every sacred moment without any hassle.

Essential Tips for Your Visit

Best Season Oct–Mar

October to March offers cool, pleasant weather — ideal for ghats, temple visits and the evening Ganga Aarti. Avoid the summer monsoon season (Jul–Sep) when the Ganga can be in flood.

Carry Photo ID

Keep a government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, passport or driving licence) handy. It may be required at certain ghats, ropeways and for booking boat rides on the Ganga.

Book Aarti Spot Early

The evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri draws huge crowds. Arrive at least 45 minutes early to get a good viewing position. The aarti begins at sunset — check timings seasonally.

Comfortable Walking Shoes

Both towns involve considerable walking on ghats, stone steps and temple premises. Wear comfortable, flat footwear. Remove shoes before entering temples — bring a bag to carry them.

We came as a family of four for Ganga darshan. The driver took us to all the key ghats, temples and even suggested the best time for the aarti. Rishikesh was magical — walked across Laxman Jhula at sunset. An unforgettable spiritual journey. Will book again!

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q
What is the best time to visit Haridwar and Rishikesh?
The best time is October to March when the weather is cool and pleasant. The famous Kumbh Mela and Ardh Kumbh occur periodically in Haridwar — visiting during these times gives a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual experience, though crowds are massive.
Q
What time does the Ganga Aarti happen at Har Ki Pauri?
The Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri happens at sunset every evening, and the timing shifts seasonally. In winter (Oct–Feb) it's around 6:00–6:30 PM; in summer (Mar–Jun) it's around 7:00–7:30 PM. We recommend arriving 45 minutes early for a good spot.
Q
Can we visit Haridwar and Rishikesh in one day?
A quick day trip is possible but not ideal. To truly experience both towns — the ghats, temples, aarti, and Rishikesh ashrams — we recommend a 2 night / 3 day trip. This gives you a relaxed spiritual experience without rushing.
Q
Is white-water rafting available in Rishikesh?
Yes! Rishikesh is India's premier white-water rafting destination. Rafting season runs September to June on the Ganga. This is an optional add-on activity and can be arranged by your driver. Charges are not included in the base package.
Q
How far is Haridwar from Delhi and Chandigarh?
Haridwar is approximately 220 km from Delhi (4.5 hrs drive) and 190 km from Chandigarh (3.5 hrs drive). Rishikesh is 24 km further from Haridwar — about 30 mins extra. Our AC vehicles pick up from your location.
